Minerals

Coal

Coal is a combustible sedimentary rock primarily composed of carbon, widely used for electricity generation, industrial manufacturing, and steel production.

Nickel ore

Nickel ores are a type of minerals containing nickel, such that its extraction is economically profitable given the current development of industry.

Iron ore

Iron ore is the primary raw material used to make steel. Steel is strong, long-lasting and cost-efficient – making it perfect for everything from washing machines to cars, bridges and skyscrapers.

Bauxite

Bauxite is also used in the production of high-alumina cement, as an absorbent or catalyst by the oil industry, in welding rod coatings and as a flux in making steel and ferroalloys, as feedstock for aluminium smelters.

Manganese

Manganese is a critical mineral heavily utilized in steel production (consuming over 85% of global output) and emerging battery technologies.

Silica

Silica is a natural chemical compound made of silicon and oxygen. Silica is widely used in manufacturing glass, ceramics, and electronics

Limestone

Limestone is extracted from the earth primarily through surface quarrying and underground mining. The process involves removing the topsoil, drilling, blasting, and then loading the broken stone into trucks. It is then crushed and screened into precise sizes for industries like construction, agriculture, and manufacturing.

Agricultural commodities

Rice

Rice is a cereal grain and, in its domesticated form, is the staple food of over half of the world’s population, particularly in Africa and Asia. Rice is the seed of the grass species Oryza sativa (Asian rice)—or, less commonly, Oryza glaberrima (African rice).

Corn

Corn (also known as maize) is a tall cereal grass and one of the world’s most important and versatile crops. It serves as a staple food for humans, a primary feed for livestock, and a vital raw material for biofuels and industrial products.

Soybeans

Soybeans are a highly versatile legume native to East Asia, primarily grown as a global source of protein, vegetable oil, and animal feed. They are unique among plant foods because they provide a “complete” protein, containing all the essential amino acids the human body requires.

Coffee

Coffee is the process of moving green (unroasted) or processed coffee from the producing country to international buyers. It is a highly regulated agricultural supply chain, requiring strict quality control, global trade logistics, and precise documentation to successfully navigate customs and international shipping.

Cocoa

Cocoa is a processed powder made from the roasted seeds (beans) of the Theobroma cacao tree. It serves as the foundational ingredient for chocolate and is widely used in baking, desserts, and hot beverages

Spices

Spices are aromatic plant materials used in small quantities to flavor, color, or preserve food. They pack intense flavor due to concentrated essential oils and are usually harvested, dried, and sold as powders or whole pieces

Sugar

Sugar is a class of sweet-tasting, soluble carbohydrates that the body converts into glucose for energy. It is broadly classified into simple sugars (monosaccharides) like glucose and fructose, and compound sugars (disaccharides) like sucrose, which is the standard white table sugar
